The Knowing of Enough

Much of our life we have been talked out of (sometimes by ourselves) knowing what we know.  We are taught to hold our utensils a certain way, play with toys a certain way (even Lego has gone from random bricks to kits that must be constructed specifically), art class as a child tells you what and how to color something. More importantly we are usually raised with dogma; spiritual dogma, political dogma, some of are taught that we are innately wrong and we can’t trust ourselves. We told not to question, and many even are taught it’s their purpose to coerce others to behave and believe as they do.

The Third Pondering:

My dog had puppies and some one questioned “She knew what to do?”

“Well duh” I said (or thought.)  “Of course she did” (Growing up on a farm has its benefits)

It immediately dawned on me, we really do too!

The knowing: What if we knew we are enough and wired to truly live as love and know what to do.  After all the Bible says we have all we need for life and Godliness. What if we believed that? What if we knew the Source that created us really wired us with all we need like all of nature. What if we gave ourselves, our children, and others permission and encouragement to tap in, explore, and listen to that still small voice, that knowing?

Why are we afraid of exploration, questioning, seeking… what if what we think is true is only a tiny part of the big picture. Alan Watts said Faith has no preconceptions; it is a plunge into the unknown. Belief clings, but faith lets go.”

After this third pondering I lay on the lawn and heard the title of this book now Blog “The Principle of Enough”

I couldn’t post this earlier in the week and I didn’t know why then this came to me big and loud…

The Caveat: One of the knowings I believe we have with which we hate to face, is the discernment that we are not alone on this planet and we need one another… asking for what we need/help is a practice in humility, it also bonds us. This is especially tough I believe as Americans because we are going to do it ourselves, our independence can keep us from enough. Like all of nature we are connected and dependent on one another, our enough comes from this eco-system.
